LaborVoices (LV) is a mobile worker job review portal that maintains employer reviews created by workers for workers. LaborVoices promotes transparency in labor markets by allowing workers around the world to fact-check prospective employers and employment conditions by accessing the LV mobile phone service. We aggregate voice data into our information platform which any migrant worker can access with the most basic cell phone.
Workers who know more about their employers can make better decisions and avoid abuse. Brands and supply chain managers can also make better decisions to source their products from employers that treat their workers well. In fact, only about 10% of workplaces in global supply chains are inspected for labor abuses. By gathering information from workers into actionable analysis, selling early access to that analysis to brands, and publishing our analysis to the world, LaborVoices aims to revolutionize global labor markets.
This model will benefit workers, supply chain managers, regulators and consumers, and contribute to building a world in which all people have access to fair and decent work.
