Products

At LaborVoices, we’re building a core platform—a mobile phone portal for workers to review employers—to produce 5 main products. For more information on any of these products, please contact us.

  1. For brands and social auditors, we’re providing a complement to existing methods of social auditing. Brands and social auditors want accurate labor information on supply chains that’s faster, cheaper, and—above all—more accurate than traditional labor inspections and community engagement. We’re providing a continuous, inexpensive, and independent stream of information coming directly from workers, themselves. Social auditing only covers 10% of the workplaces in the global supply chain. We aim to cover 100%, at a decent profit.
  2. For workers, our “users”, we’re providing a forum for them to seek and share information on employers, labor recruiters, and other factors critical to their success, like housing and childcare. Currently, workers rely largely on their friends and family networks—and even labor recruiters—to gather this information, sources that leave them vulnerable to gaps, biases and manipulation. We aim to serve up information vetted by the true experts: workers, themselves.
  3. For advertisers, we’re providing an access point to the vast and upwardly-mobile “next middle class”. By serving audio advertisements on our system, firms can target their ads to users that can best use their services, in a system far superior to radio broadcast ads. From public service announcements to microsavings accounts, we aim to provide the most relevant products and services to our users.
  4. For consumers and activists, we’re providing a free public stream of our data and analysis, after our profit-making embargo period. We want our data to flow directly to consumers through point-of-sale apps already on the market, like Free2Work and GoodGuide. We will revolutionize the consumer experience, by providing testimonials from workers directly to consumers’ phones, and allowing consumers to connect directly to workers, closing the supply-chain loop.
  5. For researchers, we’re providing a rich source of information on the next middle class. We’re eager to work with academics to measure our accuracy and our impacts on our users, to provide fair incentives to contributing users, and to best refine our products to meet users’ needs.
